A typical left chest placement is between 3 and 4 inches wide and sits roughly 7 to 9 inches from the left shoulder seam. Stitch density, pull compensation, and underlay settings must be precisely dialed in to prevent fabric puckering or design distortion.
We digitize left chest designs for polo shirts, button-down shirts, dress shirts, and corporate uniforms. Every file includes the correct colour sequence to minimize thread changes on the production floor. Left chest placements work equally well on fleece and knit fabrics — we adjust density and stabilizer recommendations based on your fabric type.
Jacket back digitizing requires a completely different approach from a left chest design. Back designs can run from 8 to 14 inches wide — the stitch count and run sequence have a significant impact on sew time and fabric pull. A poorly digitized large design will cause the jacket to pucker or distort after the first wash.
Our digitizers plan jacket back files with walk stitches that travel the shortest possible distance between elements, reducing jump stitches and keeping the back of the jacket as neat as the front. Digitizing a design for a hat or cap is one of the most technically demanding applications in embroidery. Structured caps require hooping a curved, semi-rigid surface — most placements are restricted to roughly 2.25 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide, and the curved surface introduces unique tension challenges that flat-garment digitizing cannot account for.
We increase underlay density, reduce pull compensation for the curved surface, and sequence the design to sew from center outward — minimizing distortion that causes text to shift or arcs to appear misaligned. We digitize for structured snapbacks, unstructured dad hats, trucker caps, and beanies.
3D puff embroidery creates a raised, three-dimensional effect by stitching over a foam backing placed under the design before the machine runs. When satin stitches are sewn across the foam at the correct angle and density, they pierce and lock the foam in place — producing a bold, sculptural look that stands out on caps, bags, and apparel.
The stitch angle must be perpendicular to the foam edge and each element must be sequenced carefully so the foam does not shift during the run. Popular for raised lettering and bold design marks on snapback caps, trucker hats, and premium branded merchandise.
Applique digitizing uses a fabric patch to fill large design areas rather than covering them entirely with stitches. The process involves three stitch passes: a placement run, a tack-down run, and a satin border stitch that locks the edges. Because large areas are filled with fabric rather than thread, applique designs sew faster and cost less on large production orders.
Popular for team jerseys, school spirit wear, and oversized design applications on hoodies and jackets. Applique allows for multi-fabric effects — combining textures or colors for a high-end look that standard embroidery cannot replicate.
Small text is one of the hardest challenges in embroidery digitizing. Any text under 5mm in cap height requires specific adjustments to remain legible after sewing. Our team widens stitch columns just enough to maintain the letterform, adjusts pull compensation for fabric stretch, and uses targeted underlay patterns.
